Tessa Hetherington

Tessa Hetherington started working for the Crews Law Firm in August of 2016 as an intern. She was hired by the firm and began working for the firm full-time in November of 2017. Tessa’s goals as a paralegal are to listen non-judgmentally to every client and prospective client’s story, to provide responsive and sensitive communication to every client, and to provide clients with affordable legal services under the supervision of Lead Attorney Shawntae Crews. Tessa works closely with Shawntae to conduct legal research, draft documents and correspondence, prepare cases for trial, and take care of filing and mailing documents.

Tessa graduated summa cum laude from Binghamton University in May of 2013 with a BA in English and a minor in Environmental Studies. She graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in May of 2017 with her Post-BA Diploma in Paralegal Technology.

Tessa is a member of the Lambda Epsilon Chapter of the LEX Honor Society and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. In spring of 2017, Tessa was one of three paralegal students at CPCC to be awarded with an Outstanding Student Award. Tessa became a North Carolina Certified Paralegal in December of 2017 and is excited to continue her legal education.

Tessa and her husband have lived in Charlotte since 2013. In her free time Tessa enjoys being outdoors, cooking, and reading.
